Honolulu

Hawaiian Islands Cruise from San Francisco

The state capita and only major city in Hawaii, Honolulu has a wealth of attractions. Spend a few poignant hours at Pearl Harbor and the Battleship Missouri Memorial. Hike to the summit of Diamond Head Crater for breath-taking views. Take a break on the magnificent white sand of Waikiki Beach. Or explore the spectacular modern cityscape with designer stores, restaurants and entertainment venues. It’s a far cry from the traditional grass skirts and lei garlands that you would associate with island life.

I opted for the iconic Diamond Head Crater adventure. A 1.5 mile hike with an elevation gain of 561 feet that includes a 235-foot-long tunnel, and two incredibly long and steep flights of 77 and 99 steps. Believe me, the view was worth it! Then I walked the full length of Waikiki Beach before treating myself to the best burrito in Honolulu.
